What is Kinvella?
Kinvella is a private, visual place to build and preserve your family story. It brings people, relationships, timelines, places, photos, and meaningful patterns together in one clean experience.
Is this a research tool?
Not exactly. Kinvella is built more for family storytelling than heavy genealogy research. You can add the details you know, organize them beautifully, and keep improving the story over time.
Who is it for?
It is made for families who want a simple way to see where they come from, remember important people, and share the story with children, relatives, and future generations.
Can I start with a few names?
No. You can start with one person, a few names, or the memories you already have. Kinvella is designed to grow with your family story instead of forcing you to finish everything up front.
What can I create?
You can create a family tree, timeline, migration map, legacy overview, and KinSight portrait comparisons. The goal is to make your family history feel clear, personal, and worth exploring.
Is my family data private?
Your family workspace is private by default. You can optionally create a revocable story link for selected family content.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. In Account, open Privacy & Data to download a portable ZIP of your owned family data or permanently delete the account and family it owns. Canceling a paid plan is separate and does not automatically delete your family.
How are my photos used?
KinSight sends the two selected portraits to Amazon Rekognition for visual comparison, then saves a limited reusable result so unchanged photos do not need to be analyzed again. Kinvella does not enroll portraits in its own searchable face collection.
